Gran Alacant is an urbanisation 12KM south of Alicante and 10KM (10mins) from the International airport which hosts regular flights from most cut price airlines. It is not on the flight path and no noise or disturbance is experienced by aircraft.
It is a hilltop location with quiet beaches 2KM below. This is a 20 minute walk or 3 mins by car with easy parking available. There is also a local bus which passes by. This bus service serves the bustling resort of Los Arenales 2KM away and Alicante the principal city in the area with fine beaches, superb architecture and many famous museums and art galleries.
Gran Alacant itself has many bars and restaurants and a new commercial centre on the edge of the town with many shops and supermarkets. A smaller supermarket is established in the centre of town within a short walking distance.
The international library offers low cost internet and fax facilities and is contained in the municipal centre together with a modern health centre and dental clinic.
For those who like markets there is a street market in Gran Alacant on Thursdays and a much larger one in Santa Pola on Saurdays and Mondays.
Car hire is available locally and there are very reasonable taxi services provided by household services companies.
All the attractions of Benidorm including the Terra Mitica theme park and Aqualandia are less than an hour’s drive away.
